Ride the Alps

Not only does the area offer great scenery and wine, it also has great roads and stunning climbs. During the Ride the Alps holiday we'll be riding about 75 -130km per day with at least one major climb. Despite the hard riding there'll still be time to enjoy the scenery and sample the local fare.

The five-day tour starts and ends in Lausanne. After cycling to Gruyère, loop back back to the Rhône valley over Tour de Suisse climbs Col du Pillon and Col de la Croix. The next few days will take us to France, first to Chamonix and then Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.

Whilst in France the tour takes in three famous Tour de France passes - Col des Aravis, daunting Col de la Colombière and scary Col de Joux Plane - before we cycle to Evian to take the ferry back to Lausanne on the last day.

Arrival is on Sunday and the hard work begins on Monday. Geneva airport is the most convenient place to fly to, although you may also arrive by train. We'll pick you up and drive you to the hotel in Lausanne, where we'll have a quick briefing and unpack and build the bikes. Any bike bags or cases will be taken to our storage for the week. Departure is on Saturday after five days on the bike!
