Crossing the northern Alpine foreland
The Veloland Schweiz Alpine Panorama routes is one of our favourite tours. We've tweaked it a little to make sure you can stay in some interesting places and end in the historical university town of Konstanz on the shores of "Bodensee".
The tour takes you to the medieval town of Gruyères and onto Fribourg with it's stunning old city. After passing through Thun, you cycle over rolling hills and through the Gantrisch Nature Park. The stunning landscape and picture postcard views accompany you through the heart of Switzerland. You arrive in the regional centre of Konstanz after a final spin through the tradtional landscape of Appenzell.
Although there are a number of passes to climb, the daily stages can be managed by everyone. If you like, take a train or bus to avoid the steeper sections.
